Translating the verses of Mir Anees (Maula Hussain A.S leaves for Karbala)

(Translation) The Prophet’s grandson departs from Medina; It is news of the desolation of the settlement of the Sayyids. Such a grief lies ahead that the world is turned upside down; Flowers seem to tear their collars, and even the breeze is covered in dust. Those with faces like flowers stand prepared like buds, All gathered together in one place like a bouquet. Ready for the journey are tall youths in robes, Turbans on their heads and cloaks upon their shoulders. Friends of the homeland embrace one another, Some stand as if frozen like images, others remain silent. One, weeping, places his face at the leader’s feet, Another falls at the feet of Ali Akbar. Looking at Abbas’s face, someone sighs: “Soon even the image of the Hand of God will be hidden from our sight.” Those devoted to Qasim say while embracing: “By God, this is a deeply painful shock to the heart.” “Who will now speak to us with such sweetness? Who will show us such affection and noble character?” Those of the age of Aun and Muhammad weep and say: “How will school feel the same without you?” “We cannot find peace after this sorrow; This is the hot season—these are not days for travel.” “You were raised in the care of Shabbir, Why go now to endure the hardship of the sun?” The two young brothers say: “Yes, brothers, you too will be remembered often.” “The King has raised us—how can we not go? If our uncle is in the wilderness, then that is our home.” “May we fulfill the duty of loyalty, Pray that we may sacrifice ourselves for our leader.” People gather together for farewell; Every heart is sorrowful and every eye filled with tears. There is no house without mourning; The cry rises that the beloved of the Lady of the Worlds (BiBi Fatima S.A) for departs. Servants stand beating their chests at the Prophet’s grave; Sadness hangs over the Messenger’s shrine.
